Moc Morgan Memorial Classic

A lovely mild day and good company is always a good combination for a fishing competition. We got this short report from Hywel Morgan who ran the Daiwa sponsored Moc Morgan Memorial Classic at Llyn Brenig in North Wales. The lake did not disappoint even in bright sunny conditions.

There was a rod average of 4.47 fish per person with the winning rod, David Rickets winning the overall match with 19 cracking fish. At the end of the day he put 36lbs 12oz on the scales. David received the Moc Morgan trophy and a Daiwa Lexa 9ft 6’ 7wt rod.

Second place went to Hedd Dafydd, a member of the Welsh Youth team who had a bag of 18lbs 4 ½oz. Enid Edwards from the Welsh Ladies team was the respectable and close third with a good net of fish for 18lbs 4oz.

While running the competition Hywel took Tanya, his daughter out for a couple of hours and both had some sport with Hywel landing this fish which he estimated to be between 9-10lb.
