New from Daiwa
Early in the year I’d had a conversation with director Robin Morley and he was obviously excited with the new range of carp rods that were being developed, the Basia DF’s. So having arrived at a recent Daiwa tradeshow in Doncaster they were my first port of call. I was given the rod’s background and technical details by product manager Darren Peel and it’s fair to say I was very impressed. Darren gave me a tour of the other ranges and several new products caught my eye; in particularly some of the clothing and the Infinity luggage, chairs and shelters.
However as I more interested in carp stuff it’s probably better if I let marketing manager Stephen McCaveny tell you about some of the other new jewels in this year’s crown…
“At the top of the reel pile is our ultimate spinning reel called the Exist. Designed for the seriously committed lure angler it features everything and some; plus a £999.00 price tag!"
"In carp terms the Windcast BR will get tongues wagging too. The Daiwa ‘big pit’ pedigree in a BR is sure to become a best seller.”
“The AIR pole has been eagerly awaited. Stiffer and more responsive than an Airity, with an improved package it was the most handled object at the show.”
“Rod development broke new ground thanks to our unique bias carbon material; the Basia DF’s and the NewEra fly rods deliver amazing performances. However our accessory range is booming with new gear. To hint at just a couple; the Infinity range has over fifty new products, there are also seat boxes, game clothing and luggage, soft lures and some amazing carp hooks from Gamakatsu. Look out for the full line up in our new catalogue which will be out for early December.”
