Conditions were overcast with the risk of thundery downpours but thankfully these didn’t materialise and the match was fished in the dry. Using Moat, Reed and Canal pools the anglers all had plenty of room and caught some big carp and silverfish during the four hour event. Thanks to the team at Hallcroft, teachers and parents who accompanied the students all made it a great day out for them.
On the individual front, Luke Easy (Dinnington High School) was pegged on Moat Outer 18 and fished long pole and pellet to record a fantastic 20.775kg, edging out this year's best female angler Kitty LeBosquet (Swanwick Hall A), who caught late in the match down the edge at Canal Pool 16 to weigh in 15.525kg. In third from Reed Pool 38 was Campsmount Academy's Kian Rusling with a close 15.425kg.
The team result was very close, with just 1 point separating the top two teams. Winners and retaining their title were Campsmount Academy with 36pts, just edging out Dinnington High School on 35pts with Outwood Academy Valley 3rd on 29pts.
