Daiwa supports Junior Event

In keeping with Daiwa’s philosophy of encouraging youngsters into angling, consultant Brian Skoyles attended this year’s junior matches run by Scunthorpe Pisces Angling Club.

“This is the third year I have involved with the Scunthorpe Pisces AC (formerly Scunthorpe Police AC) matches, and as in previous years it was a fantastic event” explained Brian.

“The first event was a match at Blyton pond, a small water heavily stocked with silver fish and small carp. The fish were in a feeding mood and all juniors were soon catching. The winner on the day was a young lad called Tom, with a weight of 23lb 11oz, while his brother Matthew came in second with 17lb.”

“Two weeks later and a change of venue to Medge Hall saw another close run contest although amazingly with the same outcome in terms of the overall winner. This time Tom landed a mixed bag for a total of 16lb 1oz.”

“At the end of event two all competitors received Daiwa goodie bags. Tom and Matthew took away the trophies in the intermediate section, while Jack who came third overall won the shield in the junior section.”

“It’s always a pleasure to attend these events and worth saying that Martin Ferriby and his team of helpers did a great job in running both days.”
